Haerin is a senior at Chantilly High School in Northern Virginia with a strong passion for political engagement and management, hoping to pursue a dual degree is business and public policy and one day, run for Congressional office. She is passionate about educational equity, criminal justice reform, voter rights, and international affairs and trade policy. At her high school, she is the captain of the Congressional debate team, Under-Secretary-General of the Model UN team, President of the Chantilly DECA chapter, a class board representative and a delegate for the FCPS Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council. Outside of school, Haerin is the founder of SHEDIDTHAT!, a website empowering girls of the future with stories of professional women today. She also served as a young fellow for OneVirginia2021, a nonpartisan organization fighting gerrymandering in Virginia, and will be interning with FairVote Virginia, a nonpartisan organization advocating for ranked choice voting in Virginia, this summer. When she’s not doing homework or at a tournament or conference, you can find her listening to all kinds of music and hanging out with her friends.
